Manuel Lucena Giraldo
Manuel Lucena-Giraldo (Madrid, 1961) is Senior Research Fellow in the Spanish Council for Scientiﬁc Research and Associate professor in IE University. He was Visiting Scholar at Harvard University, Lecturer in Stanford University and Visiting Professor at Tufts University, Javeriana University (Bogotá, Colombia), IVIC (Venezuela), Colegio de México, University of London (ILAS) and St. Antony´s College (Oxford).
His publications include a number of books on travels, scientific expeditions, urban history, images of nations, global empires and images of Spain. His last books are “Naciones de rebeldes. Las revoluciones de independencia latinoamericanas” and “The Age of Explorations”. He is also a regular contributor to the press in Spain and Latin America and a member of the Advisory Committee of National Geographic in Global History.
